Sila National Park was established in 1997, it covers 73.695 ha and its perimeter includes three of the five Calabrian provinces: the province of Catanzaro, the province of Cosenza and the province of Crotone. The Park is characterized by a significant biodiversity system, indeed it is considered one of the wildest Italian geographical areas and the richest area in fauna of the southern Italy. The variety of this territory gives to the visitors the opportunity of making different kinds of activities like: trekking, archery, sailing in the lakes, horse riding, canyoning and, during the winter, cross-country and downhill skiing. |
