Stilo, home of the Italian philosopher, writer and poet Tommaso Campanella, is a village rich in history that offers to the visitors many opportunities, such as the downtown and its monuments visits. The history of Stilo goes back to the time of the Greek colonies in southern Italy, and its territory was made even more fascinating by the setting of many "lauree" of eastern monasticism, whose main witness is the "Cattolica". This is a 9th century temple that reflects the classic style of the Byzantine church: what strikes inside is especially the light, flashing light on the top and lighter at the bottom, in the way to favour meditation. |
