Visiting the downtown of Gerace

 

Gerace is an ancient village preserving a Medieval fascination, is located in the Aspromont National Park. It is full of noble Palaces and churches dug in stones. In Gerace you will admire the Cathedral, that represents the largest and the most impressive evidence of the Norman occupation in Calabria, and the Castle, built in the 7th century and whose rest are the walls and the big tower. Visiting the Borgo Maggiore, known for the many houses dug into the tuff, it is still possible to see expert hands shaping clay pots.
